How old do I have to be to attend Driver's Education?

The minimum age required is 15 years and 9 months to start the classroom session.

When can I get my Learner's Permit?

The minimum age to get your Learner's Permit is 16 years old.

Do I need to have my Learner's Permit to attend Driver's Education classes?

No. As a matter of fact, the Driver's Education Classes will prepare you to take the Learner's Permit Test.

Do I need to take Driver’s Education to get my Driver’s License?

If you are under the age of 18, Massachusetts requires you to successfully complete an RMV approved Driver's Education Program and have the Driver's Education Certificate electronically filed with the RMV before you can book and take your Driver's License test.

How do I get a Driver’s Education Certificate Electronically filed?

Upon completion of all JOL requirements, you will turn over the appointment card with $25.00 to your driving instructor on your last drive. We will send everything to the RMV for them to process the certificate request. You will not receive anything in the mail. The only way to check to see if it has been processed is to go on the RMV website.

What if I miss a class?

If you missed a class, you can make it up when we hold our next session. Call the office to verify which classroom time you missed.

When can I start scheduling my behind the wheel lessons?

Road lessons may begin after the student has obtained his/her Learner's Permit, after successfully completing the classroom portion of Driver's Education, and after several hours of basic driving with your parents.

How do you book Road Lessons?

Log in to our account with your unique username and password.  Click on the BTW Course hyperlink.  A color coded calendar will appear on your screen.  Click on any day of the week to see if a spot is available.  Initially, you will need to enter your Permit Number and expiration date prior to securing your first driving appointment.

What is your cancellation policy for my behind the wheel lessons?

All appointments must be canceled no less than 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours notice, will result in a $75.00 cancelation fee. Appointments on Sunday must be canceled by Friday at @ 2:00PM. You can completely avoid this fee by canceling your driving appointment prior to the 24 hour window.
